Eclectic pianist, passionate chamber musician, teacher, and sought-after accompanist, François Lambret has collaborated with some of the greatest artists of his generation.

A Parisian by birth but a Berliner at heart, he studied piano and chamber music at the Conservatoire National de Paris (CNSMDP) and at the University of the Arts in Berlin (UdK) working with Jean-François Heisser, Pierre-Laurent Aimard, Christian Ivaldi and Fabio Bidini.

As a solo performer, and in some of the most prestigious string quartets (Berg, Ysaÿe, Artemis), he has won numerous international prizes. He won the first prize at the Trondheim competition, the audience prize in Melbourne, and the Dorothy MacKenzie Award in New York.

His career as a pianist has taken him on numerous tours as a soloist or as a member of the Paul Klee Trio, and has allowed him to work on numerous parallel projects with singers, dancers, and electro-acoustic composers.

His concerts in recent years have taken him to some of the largest venues in the word: the Berlin Philharmonic, Paris Salle Pleyel, Cité de la Musique, Amsterdam Muziekgebouw, Teatro Colón, Argentina, and the Topan Hall.

In 2018, he toured with the composer Sven Helbig . His concerts were broadcast widely (France Musique, NHK, NPO, Deutsche Welle), and his recording of Alexandre Guilmant's works for harmonium and piano was praised by the critics (Diapason).

A regular guest at numerous European festivals, François Lambret has recently performed with such diverse artists as Bertrand Chamayou, Francesco Tristano, Renaud and Gautier Capuçon, Nicholas Angelich, Camille Thomas and Rosanne Philippens.

As an accompanist for Deutsche Grammophon he has performed with many of the label's opera stars: Elīna Garanča, Benjamin Bernheim and Julie Fuchs.

His passion for dance, and his regular presence at the Violon sur le Sable festival in Royan, have also given him the chance to collaborate on several occasions with the star dancers of the Paris Opera (Dorothée Guilbert, Karl Paquette, Ludmila Pagliero and Laura Hecquet).
